Laura Dorrity, PT, RTY200 is a native of the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. Laura first found her love for physical therapy at Texas A&M University where she was president of Project Sunshine, an organization that provides opportunities for children with disabilities and long term illnesses. Through Project Sunshine, Laura was able to volunteer with the local hippotherapy program and saw first hand the incredible impact a physical therapist could make in someone’s quality of life.

After her undergraduate years, Laura worked at an inpatient hospital in Dallas, TX as a therapy technician on the Traumatic Brain Injury team which fueled her passion for the profession.

She received her Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2008. Laura has practiced in a wide variety of settings, but has found her true calling in working in the subspecialty of pelvic health. She has taken extensive continuing education through Herman and Wallace for prenatal/postpartum care as well as on topics such as pelvic pain, bladder and bowel dysfunction.

Laura and her husband, Chris Dorrity, moved to Knoxville in 2016 to spend more time sharing their enjoyment of nature and rock climbing which they try to impart on their two children. Her other interests also include running, yoga and cooking.
