Jamie Ligon, PT, DPT, PCES can relate to many of the patients she treats. She required physical therapy after suffering a neck injury while she was a pole vaulter at the University of Tennessee. After receiving her bachelor’s degree from UT, she joined Apple Health and Wellness as an assistant and certified personal trainer for four years. Jamie left Apple to pursue her doctorate in physical therapy at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, where she was named the school’s “Outstanding Doctoral Student” in 2012. Her professional interests include prenatal and postpartum recovery, functional fitness, pediatrics. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Tennessee Physical Therapy Association. She is also a board member for Girls on the Run of Greater Knoxville, helping elementary school girls gain self-esteem through a fun running curriculum. Jamie is married to her college sweetheart, David Ligon, and is a mom of 4 including twin infants. She is a member of the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and also enjoys running and traveling.
